From 29 September to 1 October, the first SEEDFORCE Standardization Workshop dedicated to processing procedures within germplasm banks was held at the Bank of the Germplasm of Sardinia (BG-SAR) of the Botanical Garden of the University of Cagliari.
The workshop, with the presence of numerous participants from Italy, France, Spain, Slovenia and Malta, was open to project partners but not only: the meeting was in fact also addressed to GENMEDA members, a network of banks and centers for the conservation of the Mediterranean flora.
On the first day, the results of the first field season were presented, while the second day was dedicated to sharing the processing procedures within the germplasm banks.
On the third and final day all the participants reached the Saline Molentargius Regional Natural Park by bike: after the President’s greeting, there was an inspection of the intervention site of the species Linaria flava subsp. sardoa, where it was possible to observe the manual removal of Carpobrotus sp., an invasive species extremely harmful to coastal habitats.
