On the eve of World Biodiversity Day, Legambiente’s new Report on Biodiversity at Risk 2025 is released today. This year, the focus is on wild orchids: there are 240 species in Italy, increasingly threatened by the climate crisis, human activity, changes in the landscape and illegal trade. Only four of these – Cypripedium calceolus, Himantoglossum adriaticum, Liparis loeselii and Ophrys lunulata – are currently protected at European level by the Habitats Directive. At Seedforce, we are making a concrete commitment to the protection of Himantoglossum adriaticum and Liparis loeselii.
