The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of BG-SAR, the Bank of the Germplasm of Sardinia, being tomorrow at the Botanical Garden of Cagliari. BG-SAR since 1997 has been collecting, studying, multiplying, conserving and managing the germplasm of native, endemic and rare plant species, threatened with extinction or of particular interest.
At -25 ° C BG-SAR currently holds about 3,500 lots of seeds referable to about 1,500 plant types coming from numerous Mediterranean territories, especially insular ones.
BG-SAR is a partner of our project and collaborates with various networks and consortia such as Ribes, Ensconet and Genmeda.
