𝙃𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙢 𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙢 restocking in Maiella

The restocking actions of 𝙃𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙢 𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙢 have begun in four locations of the three Abruzzo national parks.

The young seedlings of this rare orchid – obtained from seeds conserved in the Maiella Germplasm Bank and grown in the Park’s nurseries – are now being planted in suitable habitats.

These interventions aim to strengthen natural populations and improve the conservation status of the species in Natura 2000 network sites, enhancing the role of the Parks as open-air laboratories for the protection of biodiversity.
